Stop!!

So a few weeks ago I changed my front rotors and brake pads since my DBA 4000 slotted rotors were getting worn down and the front pads needed to be changed anyway. I went with Racing Brake 1pc. front slotted rotors with curved vanes and their ET900 Pads. The install went smoothly, not a big deal. The rotors installed fine and the pads went in the way they should but the brakes felt a bit better. I didn't bleed the system because I didn't feel the need to since it was done only 5,000 miles ago. It could just be that the rotors and pads are new that the pedal travels less giving me a firmer feel but I think that the pads themselves match pretty well with the rotors.

The initial bite on these pads are great even though they are for HPDE, these are still very street-able and low dust considering the type of pad it is. If you need to stop these pads will bite HARD even when cold. The pads seem to work very well in conjunction with the rotors, Racing Brake invested a lot of time in formulating the proper metallurgy for these rotors that will provide the pads with nice bite and longevity of life. Although I drive my car on the street, I still drive pretty hard and require a lot from my car. This product combination certainly delivers and for the price I can't complain either.

In the future I will probably upgrade to a StopTech Brig Brake Kit with a 6 piston caliper and 355mm or larger rotors for the front and match it with the a larger 4 piston caliper in the rear. Then again I plan on doing a lot things to my car in the future, haha.

Throwback

Today was a pretty eventful day that required me to travel a lot. Usually when I travel from one place or another I think about my car and what I can do. Usually I just laugh at ridiculously modded cars with two tone paint jobs and falling off body kits (it's NYC) while exhibiting large amounts of side-walk rage at people who can't walk properly and feel the need to take up most of the sidewalk so no one can pass... Anyway, I was thinking on my way to the train how my car has changed over the years, bought the car in May 6th 2006 on a sunny Saturday around 1:30PM. Needless to say somethings have changed on the car but I do miss her stock form once in a while.

Everything was so new...

New Kickz!!!

So I finally got around to purchasing new kickz for my Evo. The only problem is I'm still waiting on tires and I need to paint the wheels as they look pretty bad right now. They're 18x8.5 OEM Evo X GSR Enkei's and I haven't picked which tires to roll with or what color to paint them. I'm pretty busy at the moment with school and will soon have to pull the motor for the timing belt and cleaning of the engine bay. So stay tuned for some new pics and more posts coming up later this month. For now, peace!
